Friday, October 23
7:00—10:00 PM

God Cares about abortion, shouldn’t we? Since 1973, when abortion was legalized in America, one out of three pregnancies has ended in an abortion. A horrifying peril is upon us and yet we remain negligent of the great atrocity of abortion in our land. Abortion, the practice of ending a pregnancy by killing the small baby in the womb, is totally contrary to God’s Word. As Bible believing Christians we must gain a proper understand of how God sees this great injustice of abortion.

Justice House of Prayer in San Diego invites pro-life Christians from all over San Diego, Orange County and Los Angeles for an evening of worship and prayer with the band Radiant Worship and also Matt Lockett the director of Bound4LIFE Washington DC.

Saturday, October 24
12:00—3:00 PM

A collaborative for Christian Pro-Life Groups to unite, re-ignite and stand together as we choose to fight for the cause of pre-born babies. This will be a time of strategizing, planning, discussions and dialogues about how we can cooperatively end abortion in our region. Question and Answer, Dialogue, and Teaching Sessions. Christian Pro-Life Groups are invited to bring information.

7:00—10:00 PM Worship & Prayer

A night of teaching, intercession, and worship as we stand in the gap for the nation, for the state of California, and for our own cities. Ezekiel 22:30 “”I searched for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before Me for the land, so that I would not destroy it; but I found no one.”

A Rebuttal to Brian Elroy McKinley’s Why Abortion is Biblical: How anti-abortion activists misrepresent the biblical record.

            by Joshua Gielow

Mr. McKinley’s article on “Why Abortion is Biblical” is a perfect example of scripture being twisted and misused to prove a stance on immorality, and a posture that is anything less than
wicked. So before we dismantle this heretical argument, I would like to give you a crash course on Bible interpretation. This is an important subject for the saints of God, who are to have
a love of the Truth in there hearts. Paul admonishes Timothy to know how to right discern between teachers of false doctrines, and those who would teach and lead men astray through
deceitful words. In 2 Timothy 2:15 Paul says:

“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

In other words, when Paul says “approved” he is stating that taking a back seat, or pleading ignorance about the scriptures is not acceptable. Three terms in this crash course are:

Hermeneutics
Exegesis
Eisogesis

Hermeneutics: The science of Bible interpretation

The Bible has different types of literature in it like the Psalms or the Major and minor Prophet writings. A Psalm is interpreted differently than a Historical account, and prophecies
would be interpreted different than the books of the Law. One of the first rules of Bible Hermeneutics is the law of context. This law is set that when you read a passage, it bares relation
to the surrounding verses. Now if I was to quote a line of scripture such as- “…Judas through the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hung himself, …go and do
likewise!” The reader will probably walk away with a sad view of scripture and no hope. Now these are two separate verses from from two completely separate parts of scriptures cut and put
together to produce a horrible passage. To correctly understand the law of context you must read the surrounding chapter(s) and verse(s) to identify what the author is trying to convey in
the message. The first part about Judas is from Matthew 27:5, which is the account of Judas’ guilt about his apostasy, and betrayal of Jesus resulting in his suicide. The latter portion
stating “go and do likewise” is an excerpt from Luke 10:37, where Jesus is talking to one of the scribes about the parable of the good Samaritan.

Exegesis: The analysis of the historical intention of the writer to the reader.

Exegesisis an important tool of Bible interpretation that lays down the parameter that the original meaning of the text is the only true meaning of the text. So when scripture refers to
Jesus being born of a virgin birth, Jesus was literally born of a virgin birth. Another example of an exegesis of scripture would be of the book of Joel, and that when there is an army
referred in the second chapter, it is a description of an actual army that is coming.

Eisogesis: Misinterpreting scripture by adding ones perspective that is not the true interpretation of the text. In other words, “I read a verse today, and this is what
it means to me…” This is the area that many people fall into, including Mr. McKinley.

The subject of Bible Interpretation is more detailed, and much, much broader than this crash course, but that is another article, another time…

Mr. McKinley starts off his argument stating “One sided. That’s the abortion stance of most Christians–one sided.”(1) I can’t really take this as a bad critique of most Christians’
because it’s true. What I mean is, God is one sided on this topic. His side. God has set parameters, and boundaries. In them are life, wisdom, peace for the mind and soul. There is fullness
of joy, and a beautiful inheritance when you find yourself with the guidelines of Gods’ word. The psalmist said “Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I may not sin against thee.”(2) His
word is what we hide and cling to, not so we can say that we have verses memorized, but so that we would not sin against God. That is the point, it is about Him. I have no shame in saying
God is narrow minded; I am thankful for His ways. As a result of those who are fully persuaded to following God, and keeping His precepts, a culture is created of like minded believers.
Brian McKinley states that there is overwhelming evidence in the Bible.(1) He is right, there is overwhelming evidence in the Bible that babies from conception are important to God. Brian
states that anti-abortion Christians support their view, by way of a few verses, which he does not believe is the proper interpretation.(1) The first verse quoted (McKinley does not give
book/chapter/verse reference too) is from Exodus 20:13- “Thou shalt not kill.” To this verse, McKinley asks if it is murder to kill a fetus, which leads to his next question of “is a fetus
a full-term human person?” The answer is yes, but McKinley is thinks not, and proceeds to attack Psalm 139:13-16(1)

“13For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.14I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul
knoweth right well.15My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.16Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being
unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. “

Brian recognizes God’s hand in the creation of man, but does not believe that a fetus is of the same value as man when God created Adam. That the fetus is only on the level a created
living thing, until it is outside of the womb. Then is becomes man.

“According to Genesis, God was involved in the creation of every living thing, and yet that doesn’t make every living thing a full human person. In other words, just because God
was involved in its creation, it does not mean terminating it is the same as murder. It’s only murder if a full human person is destroyed.”-Brian McKinley(3)

Brian’s thinking is totally flawed and contrary to what Scripture teaches. The creation of man was completely different in the process than the rest of creation. Man according to Genesis
1 and 2, was made in the likeness of God, and formed out of the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into man,and called him Adam. Eve was the helpmate God made for Adam, and
He spoke purpose into them, and blessed them. He told them to be fruitful and to multiply. The rest of creation was not made into the likeness of God, nor did he give it the blessing that
He gave Adam and Eve.

Mr. McKinley, then argues that Psalm 139 was used out of context by anti-abortion Christians, to build a “stand-alone doctrinal statement.” This is truly not the case. Psalm 139 is, and
has been a part of Judeo-Christian liturgy. It is also contains orthodoxies about Gods’ attributes, such as His Omniscience, His Immutability, His Omnipresence, His sovereignty, and so
forth. The writer of the Psalm uses “I am”, “me”, which is personification, and a reference to having identity, and purpose. The writer does not refer to himself in the womb as just a blob!
But special to God. McKinley then teaches that the Psalms are songs and not to be taken literal. He describes how the writer of most of the songs, being King David, was swayed by different
emotions and wrote what he was feeling at the time. This is classic example of eisogesis. The Psalms like the rest of the Bible can be interpreted with Hermeneutics and Exegesis to
determine what is literal, and what is not. A prime example is Psalm 22, which is a literal, and non literal prophecy about Jesus’ crucifixion. Verse 6 states, “I am a worm…” which we
know historically, and naturally that Jesus was not a physical worm. But is a metaphor of His life to be crushed as a worm for the staining of garments. Verses 7 and 8 are actual sayings
that the mockers said to Jesus while being crucified on Golgotha. Once again this was to describe the Psalms using literal and non literal excerpts. Brian McKinley brings up 2 Kings 2 to
further his point of the danger of using certain verses out of context. 2 Kings 2 is the event of Elisha receiving the mantle of Elijah, and then proceeding to bless Jericho’s water source.
When leaving Jericho, Elisha the prophet of God was mocked by 42 young men. The prophet called a curse upon them, and two female bears came and killed them. The Hebrew word for “young men”
is Neurim Qetannim, which refers to an age group of 12 to 30 years old. These are not ignorant young men, who were innocently cursed by a “bitter and cruel” prophet. He uses Song of Songs
to again make the point, and importance of context. If only he used this rule when reading and interpreting the whole of other Scriptures. Jeremiah 1 is another scripture that Brian
McKinley is unsatisfied with the interpretation of anti abortion Christians. He claims that because this is a reference to the birth of a prophet, it can not therefore be used in
understanding that God can know someone before they were in the womb, and that anyone less than a prophet does not have divine purpose.

“This is a special event — the birth of a prophet. God brought the prophet Jeremiah into the world for a divine purpose, and because of that, God was planning Jeremiah’s life “before”
he was even conceived. God was preparing him to do miraculous things, such as speak on behalf of God while still a child and setting him up as an overseer of nations and kingdoms. ” – Brian
McKinley(4)

Throughout all of Scripture, God refers to generations, and generations being known by Him and and the importance of the seed of Abraham which He made covenant with. Psalm 8:3-4
says

3 When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, 4 what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care
for him?

Now from here, Brian shifts the article to show how scriptures can be used in support of abortion. What is peculiar is that Brian acknowledges that the verses he uses are not only out of
context to support his title thesis, but he then proceeds to argue for them as a case for a pro abortion stance .(5) My only assumption for why Brian would do this, is because he has no
legitimate argument against the anti-abortion Christians, and more severely, that there is no love of the truth in his heart.

Brian states-

” In the full context of Ecclesiastes, King Solomon makes the point that much of life is futile.”(5)

This is a half truth, which does not help anyone who is in search of the full truth. The exegesis of Ecclesiastes is that King Solomon, had wisdom, wealth, and women; but he forsook his
first love. God. When a man has God, and turns to earthly goods, it will leave him spiritually bankrupt. So King Solomon concludes in the end of Ecclesiastes 12:13,14-

13Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. 14For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every
secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

So Mr. McKinley quotes Ecclesiastes 6:3-5-

3If a man beget an hundred children, and live many years, so that the days of his years be many, and his soul be not filled with good, and also that he have no burial; I say, that an
untimely birth is better than he. 4For he cometh in with vanity, and departeth in darkness, and his name shall be covered with darkness. 5Moreover he hath not seen the sun, nor known any
thing: this hath more rest than the other.

Brian believes(?) this is a stance for having an abortion to ensure that a child will not have a “miserable life.”(6) The focus of the passage first of all is on the man who has many
children, and to live many years. The exegesis of this passage is that this man, is a success! He has many children to carry on his name, and lived a long life on the earth. But if his soul
is not filled with good, or if he were to pass away and no one was to notice, he benefited nothing. Jesus said in Mark 8:36-

“For what shall if profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his soul?”

Second the focus is declaring the reader to make a dichotomy between quality and existence. Solomon does not opt, for suicide if the man has no true quality in his life, nor does he
interject to kill a child in the womb. He uses the word miscarriage, which a miscarriege is an accident, and not that of intentional plucking and killing as an abortion is.

Ecclesiastes 4:1-3-

” 1So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their
oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter. 2Wherefore I praised the dead which are already dead more than the living which are yet alive. 3Yea, better is he than both they,
which hath not yet been, who hath not seen the evil work that is done under the sun.”

McKinley states-

“Here we have an argument for both euthanasia and abortion.”(6)

Nope, here we have a man arguing that a non existence is better than poor existence. Nowhere is there reference to a woman who is with child. The statement of euthanasia is shocking, and
that he uses verse 2 as his reference to euthanasia, is a stretch at best. McKinley states-,

“When quality of life is at stake, Solomon seems to make the argument that ending a painful life or ending what will be a painful existence is preferable.”(6)

This is just simply not what Solomon said. Solomons’ statement is between the dead, and those oppressed, and says that a non-existence is better than those who experience the tragedy of
life. Ecclesiastes does not end on such a negative note. The reader will find what the preacher, who is Solomon, declares what to be as the true quality and fulfillment in life.

The story of Job comes up in McKinley’s article on why abortion is Biblical. Job is a man who has the fear of the Lord, he has seven sons, three daughters, and is wealthy. He is caught
between the working of the devil and the sovereignty of God. Job looses everything at the hand of the enemy, and continues to worship God. Obviously the passage is much more in depth and
extravagant than how I have described it. McKinley takes the passage Job 3:2-4,11-19 and Job 10:18-19.

“2And Job spake, and said,3Let the day perish wherein I was born, and the night in which it was said, There is a man child conceived. 4Let that day be darkness; let not God regard it
from above, neither let the light shine upon it. “

“11Why died I not from the womb? why did I not give up the ghost when I came out of the belly? 12Why did the knees prevent me? or why the breasts that I should suck? 13For now should
I have lain still and been quiet, I should have slept: then had I been at rest, 14With kings and counsellors of the earth, which build desolate places for themselves; 15Or with princes that
had gold, who filled their houses with silver: 16Or as an hidden untimely birth I had not been; as infants which never saw light. 17There the wicked cease from troubling; and there the
weary be at rest .18There the prisoners rest together; they hear not the voice of the oppressor. 19The small and great are there; and the servant is free from his master. “

Job by chapter three, has lost his children, servants, cattle, and his house. As an act of mourning, Job rips his clothing, shaves his head, and pours dirt on his brow. Satan had
afflicted Job with boils, and so great was his agony that his three friends, Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar did not even recognize him! The three men rent their clothes, raised their voices
weeping, and poured dust on their heads. They sat on the ground with Job, in complete silence for seven days. Verse 3 of the third chapter is where Job speaks, cursing the day of his birth.
By chapter 10, Job has complained through chapters six and 7, and continues in chapter 9 and 10. Chapters 4, 5, and 8 are Job’s friends Eliphaz and Bildad admonishing and correcting Job,
counseling him to not counsel God! Job does not repent of his complaints or remarks. In chapter 38, God appears in a whirlwind, and rebukes Job for his dark counsel, and words without
knowledge. Job repents, and the Lord restores twice what was taken from him. McKinley states that Job’s words are a strong argument for quality of life over existence, and argues that it
can be used in a defense that abortion can improve life.(7) This type of thinking is called eugenics. And is not the case in any of the passages.

McKinley then takes a surprising neutral stance on the issue of abortion, implying that the Bible neither supports nor condemns abortion.(7) It is surprising to think that one can truly
believe that God could have such a neutral stance on what man does- when the Scriptures convey that God is ever mindful of man.

McKinley again shifts his argument to a Biblical support of abortion by referencing Exodus 21:22-23. He switches between translations, so I have provided below King James, New
International, and New American standard translations to try and get a better picture.

KJV
“22If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman’s husband will lay upon
him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. 23And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life, 24Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,25Burning for
burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe. “

NIV

22 “If men who are fighting hit a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely [e] but there is no serious injury, the offender must be fined whatever the woman’s husband demands and
the court allows. 23 But if there is serious injury, you are to take life for life, 24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, 25 burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise
for bruise. “

NAS
22″If men struggle with each other and strike a woman with child so that she gives birth prematurely, yet there is no injury, he shall surely be fined as the woman’s husband may demand
of him, and he shall pay as the judges decide. 23″But if there is any further injury, then you shall appoint as a penalty life for life,24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot
for foot, 25burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise. “

First off, the passage speaks of an accident that makes the mother and/or the baby as the victim. This passage is not about abortion, because it is not a premeditative killing. Verse 22
gives a scenario of a struggle between two men, who amidst their struggle hit a woman who is pregnant. The word(s) that is in question is the translation of “depart” for KJV / “give birth
prematurely” which is the NIV, and NAS. The Hebrew word is “Yatsa”, or “Yasa”, which is also translated as “bear out”, “begotten”, “come out”, “spring out”, “risen”, “pluck out”, and more
depending upon the context.(10) It is used in translating the words “child birth”, “gave birth”, and “born.” The word does not denote death, as McKinley would have us to believe. He
incorrectly references the word “Yalad” which is interpreted as “young man” , “child”, or “offspring” to mean “coming out.”(8) McKinley translates the Scripture to be miscarriage, and if
this were to be true, by definition of miscarriage it does not mean that the child is dead, or aborted. Which then leaves us with the question of- “Is the reference of the injury to the
mother or the child?” Professor Archer of Old Testament and Semitic Studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, concludes:

There is no ambiguity here, whatever. What is required is that if there should be an injury either to the mother or to her children, the injury shall be avenged by a like
injury to the assailant. If it involves the life (nepes) of the premature baby, then the assailant shall pay for it with his life. There is no second-class status attached to the fetus
under this rule; he is avenged just as if he were a normally delivered child or an older person: life for life. Or if the injury is less, but not serious enough to involve inflicting a like
injury on the offender, then he may offer compensation in monetary damages… (9)

In Leviticus 27:6 McKinley says that a monetary value was placed on children.(12) That is wrong. This Scripture is a reference to the people of God who pledged to make a vow. They
believed when making vows that it should cost them. Vows were not just made on whim, and then forgotten.

Leviticus 27:1-6

” 1And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When a man shall make a singular vow, the persons shall be for the LORD by thy
estimation. 3And thy estimation shall be of the male from twenty years old even unto sixty years old, even thy estimation shall be fifty shekels of silver, after the shekel of the
sanctuary. 4And if it be a female, then thy estimation shall be thirty shekels. 5And if it be from five years old even unto twenty years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male twenty
shekels, and for the female ten shekels. 6And if it be from a month old even unto five years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female thy
estimation shall be three shekels of silver. “

The same with Numbers 3:15 is a poor attempt to stir up something that is not there.(12)

Numbers 3:15

“15Number the children of Levi after the house of their fathers, by their families: every male from a month old and upward shalt thou number them.”

This is not a passage stating that anyone younger than a month is sub-human. This is a passage about the priesthood of the Levites keeping watch over the sanctuary of the Lord. An infant
younger than a month would not be expected to be on the watch or charge of the sanctuary, and therefore not included in the counting of the male priests. Brian McKinley’s last argument is
to summarize that the neither the Jews’ or God view the fetus as a human.(12) This conclusion is drawn from Genesis 38:24.

Genesis 38:24

“24And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And
Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt.”

First off Tamar does not get burnt at the stake, and gives birth to twins. Second, the decision to burn Tamar was Judah’s and not God’s. This event in Genesis is about Judah’s sin and
hypocrisy; This Scripture is not about if a fetus is human, or God’s Righteousness and Justice. Brian uses this passage, and declares that God views the fetus as sub human.(12) This
perception is a horrible conclusion, and solidifies that he has no argument. The Bible contains many events that are what you would call descriptive and prescriptive. Meaning in this event,
Judah’s actions were descriptive, they tell of what he did, the results, and how he responded. Therefore in this case:

Judah slept with his daughter in law Tamar, believing her to be a prostitute.

Judah finds that his Tamar to be pregnant with his child,(which he is not aware that the child is his.)

Judah declares Tamar to be burnt

Tamar exposes Judah’s sin.

The Scriptures not only reveal the heart of God for babies in the womb, but on the fact that abortion is a shedding of innocent blood. God is very opinionated about those he calls
innocent, and when their lives are being taken from them. He cares about our views on the womb, and about the blood that is being shed for sake of convenience.

Genesis 9:6

“6Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.”

Psalm 106:37-40

“37Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils. 38And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of
Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood. 39Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions. 40Therefore was the wrath of the LORD kindled
against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.”

God is also not mute about what happens when blood is being poured out. Numbers 35:33-

“33So ye shall not pollute the land wherein ye are: for blood it defileth the land: and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed
it.”

2 Kings 21:16

“16Moreover Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; beside his sin wherewith he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in
the sight of the LORD.”

2 Kings 24:4

” 4And also for the innocent blood that he shed: for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood; which the LORD would not pardon.

Deuteronomy 21:1-5

” 1If one be found slain in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee to possess it, lying in the field, and it be not known who hath slain him. 2Then thy elders and thy judges shall
come forth, and they shall measure unto the cities which are round about him that is slain: 3And it shall be, that the city which is next unto the slain man, even the elders of that city
shall take an heifer, which hath not been wrought with, and which hath not drawn in the yoke; 4And the elders of that city shall bring down the heifer unto a rough valley, which is neither
eared nor sown, and shall strike off the heifer’s neck there in the valley: 5And the priests the sons of Levi shall come near; for them the LORD thy God hath chosen to minister unto him,
and to bless in the name of the LORD; and by their word shall every controversy and every stroke be tried:”

Matthew 23:35

“35That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and
the altar.”

But there is a greater blood that has been spilled in the land, and that is the blood of Jesus.

“There is a fountain filled with blood drawn from Emmanuel’s veins; And sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains.” -William Cowper

It is time to plead the blood of Jesus in the crisis of abortion. What can wash away our sins? Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

“Who, tho’ he has fought against thee, is now reconciled to thee, and will maintain thy cause against all thine adversaries.” - John Wesley.1

Seeds of Intercession

God contends with those who contend against His people. Then He calls us to be a kingdom of priests who do what He is doing in this generation. Intercession is much more than an activity to which we devote two hours of our time each morning and evening. Intercession is much more than a current trend into which we take refuge for a season of time and then move along as the culture sways us. Intercession is the very reason and the very lifestyle for which we are all created. The purpose of this short piece of writing is to call to account and to bring to remembrance the primary vocation of every believer in Jesus. Even though it is our inheritance to go from glory to glory in the place of intercession, we more frequently than we should lose sight of our identity in Christ the Intercessor.

Secrets of Intercession

Secret of intercession #1 – Jesus Himself made it plain, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” In another place Jesus furthers expands on this, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.”

Secret of intercession #2 – To go humbly before God and ask Him questions. You might for example ask God, “Oh Lord, how do I pray?” This is what the twelve disciples asked Him; should we do any differently? Another question which directly relates to revival and reformation is this: “Why has America’s opinion about the practice of abortion shifted from pro-choice to pro-life within the last year?” Several recent polls have all confirmed this to be true, yet why is this happening? Why is America changing her view about abortion? If this causes confusion to you because you think that abortion is just an issue2 that isn’t worth worrying about, then you might want to ask these questions: ”God, what do you think about abortion? Should men and women have the right to choose if their child is going to be born?” Many across America have asked this very thing, have heard God answer clearly, and have gone forth in obedience to His unmistakable voice. In simple terms, we cannot enter into intercession unless the voice of God leads us on, and unless the power of the Holy Spirit is alive and active in our midst.

The Red Warriors

Again, I believe that we should indeed be asking the questions, “Why have the hearts and the minds of Americans shifted concerning abortion? Does this shift reflect or relate to the increasing amount of prayer all across America for the ending of abortion and for revival and reformation? This is critical for America to understand in light of the social, political, moral, cultural, health, educational, and spiritual states of emergency into which we find ourselves today. I would dare to say that much of our crisis is undoubtedly bound to the issue of the bloodguilt of America. But don’t just take my word for it. Ask God! He is proclaiming it loud and clear. In all 50 states there are groups of people who have committed themselves to pray for the ending of abortion. Why is this? Because God loves babies!3 Bound4LIFE chapters made up of young and old followers of Jesus gather to fast, weep, and travail in prayer for the ending of abortion. We stand in front of abortion clinics and courthouses praying silently with red tape over our mouths that says LIFE. We wear red wristbands called Life Bands as a symbol and reminder of the covenant with God that we have made to PRAY for abortion to end every time we see the red mark on our wrist, to VOTE for candidates that are actively pro-life, and to OBEY God as he leads us into works of compassion and justice. And we repeat this prayer daily: “Jesus I plead your blood over my sins and the sins of my nation, God end abortion and send revival to America!”

If this is not God raising up a united cry for the pre-born babies who don’t yet have a voice of their own, then we are to be pitied among Christians because we stand in silent prayer for several hours every week. But if this is what Jesus is doing right now among thousands of His followers throughout America, Canada, Europe and the world, then it doesn’t take a prophetic eye to discern that the Holy Spirit is drawing forth a Moses Generation out of the bloody river of abortion; He is longing much more than we are for abortion to come to an end. In 1994 during the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington DC, Mother Theresa declared boldly before President Bill Clinton and first lady Hillary Clinton, Vice President Al Gore and many congressional leaders, “Please don’t kill the child. I want the child. Please give me the child. I am willing to accept any child who would be aborted, and to give that child to a married couple who will love the child, and be loved by the child.”4 Oh that the Church of America would see and embrace the truth!

The Numbers don’t lie. Thousands of Christians, young and old, are gathering together all over America to fast and pray for the ending of abortion.5

The Numbers don’t lie. Since 1973, 50 million American lives have been lost in the bloody river of legalized abortion. Each day, over 4000 children are aborted in America.6

The Numbers don’t lie.

Right now the momentum is on your side. A recent Gallup poll7 shows that in May 2008 50% of Americans considered themselves “Pro-Choice” and 44% considered themselves “Pro-Life.” In the last year, there has been a complete reversal of statistics. As of May 2009 51% of Americans now consider themselves “Pro-Life” while only 42% say “Pro-Choice.” This is a FIRST-the majority of Americans are Pro-Life.

Pew Research8 recently discovered a radical trend indicating a massive loss of support for abortion. Tracing back to August 2008, the number of people that think it should be illegal in all or most cases is dramatically increasing, and those that think it should remain legal is desperately decreasing.

Rasmussen Reports9 recently conducted a study that shows that 58% of Americans now think that abortion is morally wrong. Among them, 64% are women.

In spite of what you hear OR MAY NOT HEAR in the media, America is changing her views on abortion. Bound4LIFE believes this can be directly attributed to the mass mobilization of prayer targeting the ending of abortion and revival in the nation. To put it another way prayer and fasting are in fact shifting the hearts and minds of America. Clearly minds are changing when increasing numbers of people are calling themselves “Pro-Life” and thinking that abortion should be illegal in most cases. The fact that more people believe abortion is morally wrong means that hearts are shifting too.10

Why is this happening? The secret of intercession is found in the blood of Jesus. It is found in the priestly calling of every believer to appropriate the blood and in so doing we give God all the glory. The secret of the Intercessor who stands in the gap on behalf of the land is bound to the fact that He pleads with blood. What does it mean to plead with blood? It means blood for blood. It means life for life. God established the system of atonement during the time of the Levitical Priesthood for this purpose. Ezekiel expresses profound insight into the necessity of bloodshed, sacrifice and atonement, “Therefore, as I live,” says the Lord GOD, ‘I will prepare you for blood, and blood shall pursue you; since you have not hated blood, therefore blood shall pursue you.’” (Ezekiel 35:6). Of course the Torah of Moses is 100% fulfilled in Jesus Christ; He gave everything because of the demand of righteous blood in order for the fulfillment of God’s justice. Jesus pleads with His blood, with His life given over to Father on the cross of Calvary. This is the call to prayer. This is the call to intercession. This is the call – to plead His blood over our sins and the sins of our nation – For He is worthy of it all.

The Future of America

The numbers don’t lie. The reason that Americans now lean more towards pro-life values than we did one year ago is because men and women have counted the cost and have subsequently left all behind, for the sake of pleading the righteous blood of Messiah Yeshua over the future of America. There is no political remedy to the shedding of innocent blood in our nation. The only thing that will cover our sins is the pure, undefiled, innocent and Holy blood of the Son of God. Oh that the destiny of our nation would not be aborted! The perfect justice of His intercession on the cross has set us free. HE is the giver of freedom. For whom the Son sets free shall be free indeed. It cost Jesus His own life, blood for blood, life for life, and freedom for freedom; should we do any differently?

Let me say this clearly, men and women are forsaking the American dream of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness; instead we are turning aside to seek the greater reward11 which is God’s dream which is the Cross of Yeshua. For it says of Jesus that He was the lamb slain before the foundation of the world. God’s dream is incomparably more excellent than the humanistic self-empowering American dream in which we ourselves demand from the state the rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The eternal reality of God’s everlasting kingdom bears witness to a much more excellent way. Only God can give life, only God can give freedom, and only God can give us the gift of happiness. Let us pursue Him with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength. For it will require all -inside and out – soul, spirit, and body entirely surrendered unto Him who is mighty to save, since there is only one place that true freedom can be found – on the cross.

This is why America is turning pro-life. God is speaking to us that abortion is wrong, and thousands from all over the nation are refusing the dream of America and accepting the call to plead the better blood of Jesus12, though it may cost them their dreams, their ambitions, their careers, and their very own lives. For it says of Jesus that for the joy set before Him he endured the cross and despised its shame.

Seeds of intercession always bear fruit, provided that they first fall to the earth and die. Jesus Himself declares this in John 12:24. The bloodguilt of America is not beyond God’s power to reckon, nor is it past His people’s place of intercession which is to stand and plead His blood over our sins so that abortion ends. We are crying out for speedy justice. Their blood cries out. His blood cries out. God is alive and He will not be silent, “Life for Life.”

The following are just some of the verses in the Bible which touch on life in the womb and abortion.

“The LORD said to her, ‘Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples from within you will be separated; one people will be stronger than the other, and the older will serve the younger.’” (Genesis 25:23)

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.” (Psalm 139:13)

“As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed [ Or know how life (or the spirit ) / enters the body being formed ] in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.” (Ecclesiastes 11:5)

“This is what the LORD says- he who made you, who formed you in the womb, and who will help you: Do not be afraid, O Jacob, my servant, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.” (Isaiah 44:2)

“This is what the LORD says- your Redeemer, who formed you in the womb: I am the LORD, who has made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who spread out the earth by myself,” (Isaiah 44:24)

“And now the LORD says- he who formed me in the womb to be his servant to bring Jacob back to him and gather Israel to himself, for I am honored in the eyes of the LORD and my God has been my strength-” (Isaiah 49:5)

“Do I bring to the moment of birth and not give delivery?” says the LORD . “Do I close up the womb when I bring to delivery?” says your God. (Isaiah 66:9)

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew [ Or chose ] you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5)

“For he did not kill me in the womb, with my mother as my grave, her womb enlarged forever.” (Jeremiah 20:17)

“When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.” (Luke 1:41-44)

“But when God, who set me apart from birth [ Or from my mother’s womb] and called me by his grace, was pleased” (Galatians 1:15) United States Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, a few months ago said that he was a “pro-life judge”, but then asked us “But where is the public outcry?!” A judge was rebuking the Church. If we lined up 4,500 people on the Mall in D.C. and gunned them down there would be a public outcry. Today 4,500 babies are going to die in the womb, and there is hardly a whisper. God is rising up a voice of Justice today for the weakest, voiceless, and most marginalized people group in our country today, the unborn.

God Says, “Open your mouth for the speechless, In the cause of all who are appointed to die. Open your mouth, judge righteously, And plead the cause of the poor and needy.” (Proverbs 31:8-9)

We recommend taking the time to meditate on the scriptures above and to seek the Lord for more revelation on His Word.

The following are facts and statistics gathered from the most-cited sources regarding abortion. Ultimately, to know the truth is to know more than just the facts and numbers. Truth is a person, so it’s not an encounter with an idea that will adequately change us. It is an encounter with God that will bring true transformation. Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.” Minds can be swayed by facts, but an encounter with the Lord changes both hearts and minds.
Abortion Worldwide

    * Annually, 46 million babies die from abortion worldwide. That’s approximately one baby being aborted every two seconds.

Abortion in the United States

    * An estimated 50 million babies have been aborted since 1973. Approximately 24% of all U.S. pregnancies end in abortion.

Characteristics of Women Having Abortions

    * Over half (56%) of all women having abortions between 15-44 are in their 20’s.
* Nearly eight in 10 U.S. women obtaining an abortion report a religious affiliation.
o 43% are Protestant
o 27% are Catholic
o 8% are other religions
* 41% of women having abortions are white, 32% are black, and 20% are hispanic.

    * Black and Hispanic women have higher abortion rates than non-Hispanic white women. Black women’s abortion rates are 49 per 1,000, Hispanic women’s are 33 per 1,000 and non-Hispanic white women’s are 13 per 1,000.

    * According to the Alan Guttmacher Institute, the most recurrent characteristics of women having abortions over time are nonwhite, poor and unmarried.

Reasons For Abortion

    * 98% Personal Choice (unwanted or inconvenient)
* 1.7% Life/Health of Mother or Child
* .3% Rape/Incest

Abortion by Gestational Age

African American Community

    * According to the CDC, each year 616,074 African Americans are born.
* 458,500 babies will have died from abortion.
* 284,877 blacks will have died that same year through anything from natural causes to heart disease.
* There are 743,377 Africans Americans dying yearly. This number is 127,303 more than those that are born.
* From 1973 to 2004, nearly 30% of the black population were erased through abortion. Out of the average 4,400 babies dying daily that are reported abortions, an estimated 1,300 are African American. They account for 32% of women having abortions yearly, yet make up only 13% of the American population. African American women are 3 times as likely to have an abortion than other women.

Eugenics the Sinister Science
Legalized abortion has defied the unalienable right to Life and allowed the most marginalized and voiceless group in America to be slaughtered in the womb. Yet this injustice did not begin with denying Life. It began when we embraced the ideals of eugenics and rejected the first truth, that all men are created equal. Only by exposing the roots of legalized abortion in a legacy of eugenics can America have a full understanding of the injustice in this nation.

Eugenics is a science concerned with improving the human species, by such means as influencing or encouraging reproduction by persons presumed to have desirable genetic traits (Hunt, Abortion and Eugenics). This idea of creating a better race is not a new concept. Though eugenics was not a word then, Plato theorized that an elite human race could be conceived if animal breeding tactics were applied to humans (Cavanaugh-O’Keefe, The Roots Chapter One).

Like the eugenicists that would come after him, he rejected the Biblical principle that every man is predestined by God, called for a certain purpose, and created in the perfect image of God. Jeremiah 1:5 says, Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Plato could not control what man became through breeding techniques, for it is God who creates man.

Despite its faulty foundation, the theory survived through the years. It was finally labeled “eugenics” by Sir Francis Galton in the late nineteenth century. He created the word from two Greek words. The first part, eu (eu), means good. John Cavanaugh-O’Keefe points out that many words with the eu- prefix make a terrible thing appear good, with examples such as eulogy, euphemism, and euthanasia. The second part of the word comes from the Greek word gen (gen). Gen denotes birth or race (Cavanaugh-O’Keefe, The Roots Chapter One).

In one of his addresses, Galton explained that after studying plant and animal methods, he was convinced that traits were hereditary, good and bad alike. Therefore, it is possible to breed people to eliminate the “undesirables” and to multiply the “desirables” (Galton). However, all Galton had was theory based on observation.
Then in the mid 1800s, cellular biologist August Weisman discovered a cell with all the genetic information enclosed. He called it the “germ plasm,” but scientists would later rename it the chromosome. From Weisman’s discovery Galton assumed that every person was the measurable and predictable sum of his ancestor’s immortal germ plasm (Black 17). He now had flawed science to prove his faulty theory.

Galton’s lack of basic respect for human worth was not an original attitude. He was greatly influenced by Reverend Thomas Malthus and Charles Darwin (Cavanaugh-O’Keefe, The Roots Chapter One). Malthus was known to society as an influential political economist in early nineteenth century England. He believed that population grew at an exponential rate whereas food grew at a linear rate; meaning society could grow to exceeds their food source (Thomas Malthus “Principle of Population”). Being a clergyman he believed that lack of food was God’s way of forcing the human race to advance, thereby removing the weak-minded.

His proposal was that the poor and working classes be kept from reproducing and that charity to the poor be stopped, which he thought encouraged population growth and reduced the food supply for the better classes of society (Cavanaugh-O’Keefe, The Roots Chapter One). Malthus theory created a necessity to alter reproduction because of over-population. Galton offered the answer with breeding.

Erasmus Darwin was grandfather to Charles Darwin and Francis Galton. Erasmus was actually the first to suggest the theory of evolution. Charles only revised the theory with more research and presented it in his infamous book On The Origin of Species in 1859 (Cavanaugh-O’Keefe, The Roots Chapter Two). Darwin agreed with Malthus about over-population but promoted “natural selection” as the means of eliminating the weak (Chapter One).

Galton used his cousin’s theory to strengthen eugenics: if society evolved from protoplasm, then the most evolved should not breed with the less evolved. Evolution and eugenics thereby created an atmosphere for an elitist, racist movement that sought to remove all those believed inferior.

Support of eugenics grew as it infiltrated London’s high societies; however, the movement was going in two directions. One direction was called positive eugenics. Its goal was to encourage or require by law eugenically favorable marriages. The other direction, negative eugenics, sought to eliminate the undesirable through sterilization, euthanasia, segregation or by any other means of stopping the degenerate from reproducing (Black 18-19).

Galton supported only positive eugenics, while his followers believed that only force would preserve their perfect race. Sir Francis Galton died in 1911, leaving behind an alliance of racist men that desired to wipe out all mentally handicapped, physically handicapped, blind, poor, and colored portions of society.

England had no success at passing legislation of a negative eugenic nature. America, however, became fertile soil for negative eugenics in the early Twentieth century (Black 211). Because eugenics generally appeals to the wealthiest and most influential people, benefactors such as the Rockefeller family, Carnegie Institution, and Mrs. Harriman of the Union Pacific Railroad became part of the American eugenic legacy (56-57). They funded guilds and institutions such as the American Eugenics Society, Carnegie Institution’s Station for Experimental Evolution, and the Eugenics Records Office (219).

It is disappointing that some of the greatest philanthropists turned out to be racist eugenicists. With so much money backing the Americans, they eventually became the leading source for new studies, improved information, and tactics to promote eugenics (213).

A key device used by eugenicists to support their work was the newly developed French intelligence test. Henry Goddard took this test and misconstrued its purpose adapting it to categorize American intelligence (Black 76).

Often biased and flawed, these tests were the basis for segregating and institutionalizing anyone deemed feebleminded by the score they achieved. The terms created to categorize below-normal achievement were “imbecile,” “moron,” and “idiot” (82). Because eugenicists believed that intelligence was inherited, whole families were institutionalized based on one person’s score.

With the ability to scientifically classify humans and segregate them from society, eugenicists began to push for legalized sterilization. The infamous case of Buck v. Bell reached the Supreme Court in 1927, making eugenic sterilization legal in the United States. Records show that approximately 60,000 sterilizations were done, with or without the consent of the patient by the 1950s. Twenty-seven states practiced sterilizations, with California performing the most at two-fifths of all done in the United States (Cavanaugh-O’Keefe, The Roots Chapter Five).

The success of the Americans encouraged other nations to implement their own programs. While other countries only simulated United State’s model, Germany took eugenics to its most radical form. By the end of the 1920s, America realized that Germany was one of the new leaders in the global eugenics movement (Black 294). The German eugenicists’ dream came true when Adolf Hitler came to power in 1933. He was a white supremacist and ardent follower and admirer of American eugenics.

Soon sterilization, euthanasia, abortion, anti-miscegenation laws, and concentration camps were established. Besides the millions killed in the gas chambers, hundreds were also killed in the camp labs in the name of eugenic research. In Auschwitz alone, 1,300 people were killed in twin experimentation (Black 359). The Rockefeller Foundation funded the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute, which oversaw the experimentations at Auschwitz (Messall 39-40).

Despite the horror the rest of the world felt, American eugenicists praised Germany’s success in doing what they themselves only dreamed of doing (Black 316-17). History shows that the post-World War II eugenics campaign fell from its pinnacle because the world vowed they would not allow the atrocities of Hitler to happen again, at least, not again in that form.

After the war, eugenics became a discredited science because of its association with the Third Reich (Eugenics Stigmatization of eugenics). The movement would have all but died if it were not for Frederick Osborn. Osborn knew that the old strategies would no longer be effective; thus, he began a new eugenics movement that would later be called “crypto-eugenics.”

The essence of this strategy was to no longer promote eugenics openly but to achieve their objectives through other organizations (Cavanaugh-O’Keefe, The Roots Chapter Ten). By selectively pouring their money into other movements, they could still remove the unfit from society by utilizing the public’s naiveté of what the organization’s true motives were. Their goal was still the same as the Nazis’, but they would pursue it in a way that would not lead to another Nuremburg Trial.

One of the main groups eugenicists began to conspire with were the birth control advocates. Birth control emerged just after the eugenics movement took off in the early 1910s. It was promoted and expanded mostly through the work of its founder Margaret Sanger. Sanger was a Malthusian eugenicist who believed the “dead weight of human waste” should be “eliminate[d]” (Green “Malthusian Eugenics”).

Besides birth control, she advocated sterilization and eugenics. She did not openly support abortion due Havelock Ellis’s suggestion that “society was not quite ready for it” (Hunt, Perfecting Humankind 2). Her paper, The Birth Control Review, was used not just to promote birth control but eugenic interests. In one edition, an extreme white supremacist eugenic book by Lothrop Stoddard was recommended to the readers (Who was Margaret Sanger?).

Sanger’s American Birth Control Federation, which would eventually become Planned Parenthood, was founded in 1922 and soon began its work at supplying birth control and targeting the undesirables. By 1930, Sanger had a clinic in the heart of Harlem. She taught them that birth control, not better prenatal care, would produce healthier children (Green “The Harlem Clinic”). From that point on, Sanger would continue to open clinics in strategic high-minority, low-income areas.

During the early forties, Margaret Sanger instituted The Negro Project. The goal was to pull African American leaders and preachers into the movement so as to make the black community embrace the concepts birth control. In a letter she wrote to her cohort Dr. Clarence Gamble, she said, “we do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out the idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members” (Green “Web of Deceit”).

Despite Sanger’s belief that birth control creates a door for the eugenicist, the two movements had yet to formally connect. This was due to the fact that Sanger was a strong advocate of negative eugenics, not positive eugenics (Black 135). She was a die-hard feminist and liberal sex crusader that thought multiple children were a chain and ball on female independence (Grant 73-75). But as post-World War II eugenicists searched for avenues to funnel their vice, Planned Parenthood became a worthy candidate.

In a speech Frederick Osborn gave at the annual Galton Lecture in 1956, he said, “Let’s stop telling everyone that they have generally inferior genetic qualities for they will never agree. Lets base our proposals on the desirability of having children in homes where they will get affectionate and responsible care, and perhaps our proposals will be accepted” and that from this rebirth we may “see [eugenics] moving at last toward the high goals which Galton set for it” (Cavanaugh-O’Keefe, The Roots Chapter Ten).

The Eugenics Society of England followed the American leaders and began funding the Family Planning Association and the International Planned Parenthood Federation. Not surprisingly, when the IPPF opened in 1952, it was headquartered in the Eugenics Society offices (Cavanaugh-O’Keefe, Introduction “Crypto Eugenics”).

The American Eugenics Society played out their scheme through an organization that they created themselves. The veterans and rookies came together in 1952 to found the Population Council. With mainly Rockefeller’s money, they funded the research for a more effective birth control (The Roots Chapter Ten).

The money was funneled into two main types of birth control research: the oral birth control pill and the IUD (intrauterine device). During the early 1950s, Planned Parenthood and the Population Council funded research to duplicate the sex hormone, which led to the creation of the pill in 1956. After testing it on humans in Puerto Rico, it entered the United States market in 1960.

The Population Council began focusing on the IUD after Alan Guttmacher, the previous America Eugenics Society Vice President and current President of Planned Parenthood, suggested it (Cavanaugh-O’Keefe, The Roots Chapter Eleven). To eugenicists, the IUD was perfect because once inserted, women would not have children for years.

The legality of birth control and contraception had been up to the states since the early 1900s. This caused a problem for the new eugenic backed movements. Thus Planned Parenthood went against the no contraceptives law in Connecticut by opening a clinic in hopes to reverse the law. The case Griswold v. Connecticut made its way up to the Supreme Court where the majority ruled that the Connecticut law was unconstitutional because it defied a married couple’s right to privacy (Griswold v. Connecticut Introduction).

The right to privacy clause was justified by the court as a “penumbra,” opening a Pandora’s box that eventually led to the Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton decision eight years later. This case is a clear example of the judicial activism that is still being battled in our courts today. Contraception and birth control was now legal for married couples and would be made legal for the unmarried in the 1972 case Eisenstadt v. Baird (Subsequent Jurisprudence).

From the beginning, hormonal birth control was based on deception. Hormonal birth control (the Pill, the Minipill, IUD, Norplant, the morning-after-pill, Depo-Provera, RU-486) has always had three possible functions. The first, often most confused as the only function, is to prevent ovulation. If the first function fails, a possible second function is to thicken the mucus of the cervix so that the sperm cannot reach the egg. The third function, a function which all hormone based contraception has, is to thin the lining of the uterus so that the fertilized egg, the baby, is not able to implant in the uterus lining and is thus aborted (Alcorn 323-326, 332).

In early 1960, both Alan Guttmacher and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists defined conception as the moment of fertilization, or when the egg meets the sperm. This caused a problem because abortion was illegal then, making their pill and the IUD illegal. So in order to make their birth control, or what they falsely called contraception, legal, they altered the definition of conception.

By 1970, both changed their position and claimed that conception begins with fertilization and ends with implantation in the uterus. In other words, it was not a baby until it was implanted into the uterus (Cavanaugh-O’Keefe, The Roots Chapter Eleven). To this day, America is aborting millions of babies in the name of contraception.

With birth control legal and the Sexual Revolution in full swing, abortion was just another step in the direction America and the eugenicist were going. On January 22, 1973, abortion was legalized by the Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade. Not surprisingly, this case is full of eugenics.

Justice Harry Blackmun, writing the opinion of the court, wrote that states were already adopting the Model Penal Code. This was an extreme code that provided for eugenic abortion and the abortion of babies conceived in rape or incest. Moreover, the code was based on the fraudulent sex study work of Dr. Kinsey who was funded by the eugenic Rockefeller Foundation (Messall 59).

Blackmun also directly cited Glanville Williams and Christopher Tietze multiple times. Both were extreme eugenicists from the British Eugenics Society. Abortion, by Lawrence Lader, was cited seven times. Lader expressed profuse gratitude in his book to Glanville Williams, Christopher Tietze, five American Eugenics Society members, and the Abortion Law Reform Association that included Julian Huxley and twenty-seven members of the Eugenics Society (60).

Continuing in his trend, he noted several state abortion court cases that were based on eugenic theories, an organization that had long supported eugenics, the eugenic book The Biological Time Bomb, and an article that claimed man was taking over its evolutionary process (64-67). The opinion of the court might as well have been drafted by the American Eugenics Society.

Directly after Roe v. Wade was released, the American Eugenics Society changed its name. Osborn said, “The name was changed because it became evident that changes of a eugenic nature would be made for reasons other than eugenics, and that tying a eugenic label on them would more often hinder than help their adoption. Birth control and abortion are turning out to be great eugenic advances of our time (67).

Besides being immersed in eugenics, Roe v. Wade was founded on lies. “Jane Roe” was really Norma McCorvey. This single, pregnant woman was used by two lawyers to legalize abortion. She never knew anything about the case or its proceedings except that she could get an abortion when the case was over. She never went through with the abortion. The first thing she heard about the case was on the news when Roe v. Wade was decided and abortion was made legal.

Roe v. Wade’s companion case, Doe v. Bolton, which made abortion legal in all three trimesters of pregnancy for virtually any reason, had a similar situation. “Mary Doe’s” real name was Sandra Cano. Her husband was in jail, her kids had been placed to foster care, and she was pregnant at the time the lawyers approached her. When she agreed to be Doe, she thought it was to get a divorce and to get her children back.

They tried to convince her to have an abortion, but she wouldn’t agree to one because she believed abortion was wrong. She had no idea that her case would become the infamous Doe v. Bolton. Now both women are followers of Christ and are trying to reverse their cases (Cavanaugh-O’Keefe, The Roots Chapter Thirteen).

If there is any doubt about abortion being rooted in eugenics, modern statistics settle the subject.

78% of Planned Parenthood clinics are in minority communities (Choice Nazi 3). According to the Guttmacher Institute, an African American is three times more likely to have an abortion than a white woman. Hispanics are 2 times more likely to have an abortion than white women (Jones, Darroch, and Henshaw “Women’s Characteristics”). African Americans constitute twelve percent of the national population and have 32% of the abortions (Hall). For every one black child born, three are aborted (Grant 116). 80% of unborn babies diagnosed with Down’s syndrome are aborted (Will). The RU-486 pill was created by the same company that created Zyklon B gas for the Nazi death chambers (Choice Nazi 6). There are 45% more sterilizations among African American women and 30% more sterilizations among Hispanics than among White women (Grant 117). Not one school-based Planned Parenthood clinic is located in a white majority school (Grant 115).

Americans love the image of the Statue of Liberty and inspired by her words of welcome to the oppressed and disenfranchised of the world: “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door.”

The sad truth is that America is no longer the safe haven of the defenseless nor the protector of the weak. In fact, we have mercilessly killed our most vulnerable citizens. We need to reclaim the deep respect for the individual and personal liberty that this country was founded on and vehemently reject the ideology of abortion and its racist roots.
