Justice Loves Babies Given to Teachers at National Conference

By Liz Townsend

Darlene and Danielle Wibeto, authors of “Justice Loves Babies.”

During the National Education Association (NEA) annual meeting in New Orleans July 1–3, teachers received free copies of a Justice Loves Babies, a wonderful pro-life book. Five hundred copies were distributed at the Teachers Saving Children booth at the NEA Expo, and the authors were on hand to greet the teachers and sign their book.

“It was a huge blessing,” said Darlene Wibeto, who wrote the book with her sister Danielle. “We were put in a place where a lot of people weren’t pro-life. We had some people refuse to take it, saying they don’t want a controversial book in their classroom, but most people were excited about getting a free book.”

The Wibeto sisters, along with illustrator Sarah Atkinson, have produced a truly touching book that shows a child’s love and protectiveness for his unborn little sister. In words and images that children can understand, it expresses the gentle message that all life is precious. Pro-lifers were thrilled to meet the sisters at NRL Conventions in 2008 and 2009.

A board member of Teachers Saving Children, which is dedicated to establishing a respect for all human life, especially among professional educators’ organizations, heard about Justice Loves Babies and suggested that it be included at the group’s exhibit booth at the NEA annual meeting. Since each exhibit item had to be approved by the pro-abortion NEA, the group was pleasantly surprised that the book passed muster.

“With God’s help over a 2½ day period, our exhibit puts the facts and the wonder of human development before the largest assembly of decision-making educators in this nation,” said Connie Bancroft, executive director of Teachers Saving Children. “I knew that it would be a miracle from God for this book to be approved since in the past none of our materials had even one reference to the word ‘abortion.’”

Darlene and Danielle joined Teachers Saving Children at the booth and received encouraging words from some teachers who praised them for standing up for life. “We had a lot of teachers behind us,” said Darlene. “They said they would do anything they could to get it into their school libraries.”

The members of Teachers Saving Children have persevered with their mission despite the opposition of pro-abortion teachers. “With the wide diversity of the individuals who attend the NEA Expo, reception of our exhibit was mixed,” Connie Bancroft explained. “Those who did visit our exhibit were very gracious and thanked us for being there. Individuals were surprised that we were giving the book as well as other materials free to those who were interested.”

The Wibeto sisters were very happy with their experience and the opportunity to bring Justice Loves Babies to a wider audience. “The most amazing thing is knowing that it’s going to be put in the hands of children,” Darlene said. “They can learn about where life begins. We’re so excited about having it go into public schools, to have our book go out and be a light to the world.”

“Who, tho’ he has fought against thee, is now reconciled to thee, and will maintain thy cause against all thine adversaries.” - John Wesley.1

Seeds of Intercession

God contends with those who contend against His people. Then He calls us to be a kingdom of priests who do what He is doing in this generation. Intercession is much more than an activity to which we devote two hours of our time each morning and evening. Intercession is much more than a current trend into which we take refuge for a season of time and then move along as the culture sways us. Intercession is the very reason and the very lifestyle for which we are all created. The purpose of this short piece of writing is to call to account and to bring to remembrance the primary vocation of every believer in Jesus. Even though it is our inheritance to go from glory to glory in the place of intercession, we more frequently than we should lose sight of our identity in Christ the Intercessor.

LIFE Scriptures

The following are just some of the verses in the Bible which touch on life in the womb and abortion.

“The LORD said to her, ‘Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples from within you will be separated; one people will be stronger than the other, and the older will serve the younger.’” (Genesis 25:23)

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.” (Psalm 139:13)

“As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed [ Or know how life (or the spirit ) / enters the body being formed ] in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.” (Ecclesiastes 11:5)

“This is what the LORD says- he who made you, who formed you in the womb, and who will help you: Do not be afraid, O Jacob, my servant, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.” (Isaiah 44:2)

“This is what the LORD says- your Redeemer, who formed you in the womb: I am the LORD, who has made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who spread out the earth by myself,” (Isaiah 44:24)

“And now the LORD says- he who formed me in the womb to be his servant to bring Jacob back to him and gather Israel to himself, for I am honored in the eyes of the LORD and my God has been my strength-” (Isaiah 49:5)

“Do I bring to the moment of birth and not give delivery?” says the LORD . “Do I close up the womb when I bring to delivery?” says your God. (Isaiah 66:9)

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew [ Or chose ] you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5)

“For he did not kill me in the womb, with my mother as my grave, her womb enlarged forever.” (Jeremiah 20:17)

“When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.” (Luke 1:41-44)

“But when God, who set me apart from birth [ Or from my mother’s womb] and called me by his grace, was pleased” (Galatians 1:15) United States Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, a few months ago said that he was a “pro-life judge”, but then asked us “But where is the public outcry?!” A judge was rebuking the Church. If we lined up 4,500 people on the Mall in D.C. and gunned them down there would be a public outcry. Today 4,500 babies are going to die in the womb, and there is hardly a whisper. God is rising up a voice of Justice today for the weakest, voiceless, and most marginalized people group in our country today, the unborn.

God Says, “Open your mouth for the speechless, In the cause of all who are appointed to die. Open your mouth, judge righteously, And plead the cause of the poor and needy.” (Proverbs 31:8-9)

We recommend taking the time to meditate on the scriptures above and to seek the Lord for more revelation on His Word.

Bound4LIFE Intl

Bound4LIFE International
After 50 days of round-the-clock corporate prayer and fasting for the 2004 elections, a group of prayer warriors — young and old alike — packed up their sleeping bags and headed to Washington, DC filled with purpose and confidence that prayer can change the course of a nation.

For 31 days they stood at the United States Supreme Court with the word “LIFE” written raw on a piece of red tape that covered their mouths. Their silent prayers rose day after day to the Court that’s higher than the highest court in the land–31 days for 31 years of legalized abortion in America. What was birthed during that time of intercession has gone on to impact the entire nation in a very short period of time.

If you go to the Supreme Court today, you will find a company still there. Through rain, blizzards and scorching heat they have never abandoned the siege. They are there until the Judges reverse the decree of death.

And its spreading.
Bound4LIFE is a grassroots prayer mobilization movement targeting the ending of abortion, the increase of adoptions and the reformation of government and society through spiritual awakening. Our mission is to mobilize a groundswell of prayer through:

* “Silent Sieges” in front of courthouses and abortion clinics across the nation.
* Millions of Christians wearing “Life Bands” and making the Bound4LIFE covenant–PRAY, VOTE & OBEY.

When LIFE tape is placed over our mouths, we are identifying with the silent screams of the unborn and of those who have no voice. Our stand is not a protest, but a silent prayer meeting. We make our appeal to the Judge of the earth and ask Him for speedy justice to be released. Oh that God would subpoena the conscience of the nation!

The media has taken hold of this image and spread it everywhere. It has quickly become a phenomenon that catches the eyes and hearts of the world.

In our silence, we intercede on behalf of our nation and cry out to God for mercy. It is a silence that speaks louder than words. We must build up this wall! May our tears soak the sidewalks, and may a silent cry go forth all over our land!
